Telangana CM KCR announces a settlement of Rs. 50 lakh after a tribal attack kills a forest officer.

Aforest range officer (FRO) in Telangana’s Khammam district died after he was attacked by immigrant tribals in Bendalapadu village of Chandrugonda Mandal. The incident occurred on Tuesday, November 22. Chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed sorrow and announced a solatium of Rs 50 lakh to the deceased FRO’s family. The Collector & District Magistrate, Bhadradri Kothagudem District has informed that Sri Challamalla Srinivasa Rao, Forest Range Officer, Chandrugonda Range along with Sri T. Rama Rao, FSO, Maddukuru Section had proceeded to inspect the ANR plantation near Errabodu Guttikoya Habitation. During the visit, Sri Challamalla Srinivasa Rao, Forest Range Officer was brutally attacked and seriously injured. While he was being taken to hospital he expired and was declared brought dead by the hospital authorities. Sri Challamalla Srinivasa Rao, Forest Range Officer has laid down his life during the course of his duty. He has left behind a widow and two minor children who are fully dependent on him.

After the incident the SOCIAL JUSTICE FOR INTERNATIONAL CIVIL RIGHTS COUNCIL, forum representatives of SJFICRC & NACHRCOI from Kerala and Karnataka on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Union Minister of state for Social Justice and Empowerment A. Narayanaswamy, seeking justice to the victim’s family.
